Inconel 625 and Inconel 725 are both nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, but Inconel 725 is stronger due to its precipitation hardening properties. Inconel 625 is known for its excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, while 725 has higher yield and tensile strengths, making it suitable for high-stress applications.
What is the difference between Inconel 625 and INCONEL 750?
Both Inconel 750 and 625 are known for their good high temperature performance. However, Inconel 750 has a slightly higher temperature resistance than Inconel 625. Inconel 750 can be used at temperatures up to 760°C (1,400°F), while Inconel 625 can typically be used at temperatures up to 538°C (1,000°F).

Inconel 725 vs Inconel 625– Alloy Properties
Inconel 725 and Inconel 625 are both nickel-based alloys with similar chemical compositions. 725 has higher levels of chromium, molybdenum, niobium, and aluminum than Inconel 625. This combination makes it more corrosion resistant than Inconel 625 alloy. However, it also makes it less ductile and more difficult to machine. Therefore, 725 tends to cost more than Inconel 625 due to the higher alloy content.
Inconel 725 vs Inconel 625– Heat Resistance
Both Inconel 725 and Inconel 625 have excellent heat resistance; however, their heat resistance ranges are slightly different. Inconel 725 has a maximum temperature of 2145°F (1175°C), while Inconel 625 has a maximum temperature of 2150°F (1177°C). Therefore, if your application requires extremely high temperatures (over 2150°F), you should choose Inconel 725 alloy.
Inconel 725 vs Inconel 625- Strength and Toughness
Both alloys maintain their structural integrity at extreme temperatures; however, they differ in terms of tensile strength and toughness. Inconel 725 has a tensile strength of 1,120 MPa, while Inconel 625 has a tensile strength of 940 MPa; Inconel 725 is also tougher than Inconel 625 due to its higher molybdenum, niobium, and aluminum contents.
