The difference between Incoloy 800 rod and 800HT round bar

Incoloy alloy 800 rod and 800HT round bar are both nickel-iron-chromium alloys of similar composition, but 800HT is a modified version with a restricted chemical composition and a higher minimum heat treatment temperature to increase creep and rupture strength at elevated temperatures. Incoloy 800 rod is suitable for applications up to 1100°F, while 800H rod and 800HT rod are typically used above 1100°F.

What is the maximum service temperature of Incoloy 800 alloy rod?

INCOLOY 800 round bar (UNS N08800/W. Nr. 1.4876) is a material widely used in the manufacture of equipment that requires corrosion resistance, heat resistance, high strength and good stability. The maximum service temperature can reach 1500°F (816°C).

Incoloy 800 Alloy Rod

Incoloy 800:

Composition: Contains nickel, iron and chromium, with a typical composition of about 36% nickel, 22% chromium and 0.05-0.10% titanium.

Properties:Good strength at high temperatures (up to 1150°C or 2102°F) and excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization.

Carbon content:0 - 0.10%.

Incoloy 800HT:

Composition: Similar to 800H, but with a further restricted carbon range (0.06-0.10%) and higher combined aluminum and titanium contents (0.85-1.20%).

Properties: It has the highest creep strength and rupture strength.

Heat treatment: It is also solution heat treated at 2100°F (1150°C).

Difference Between Incoloy 800 and 800HT Round Bar

Incoloy 800 round bars are commonly used in petrochemical and offshore applications. They are highly corrosion resistant and have excellent mechanical properties. They are also widely used in industrial boilers and pressure vessels. This grade of alloy is also available in a variety of sizes and surface finishes. They can be processed to specific requirements to meet specific application needs. If you are wondering what the difference is between them, read on.

Incoloy 800H and 800HT round bars are the same alloy grade but in different shapes. These alloy bars are used in a variety of applications, including fasteners and pistons. They are also commonly used in chemical and petroleum applications, as well as paper mills and nuclear power plants.

Incoloy 800HT round bars are made from titanium-containing austenitic alloy steel. Its unique composition provides unmatched strength and corrosion resistance. In addition, they are highly formable and have a long machinable creep length. They are also resistant to most chemicals. For example, Incoloy 800HT round bars are extremely resistant to nitric acid and sulfur, and they also resist pitting corrosion.
