Incoloy 890 takes the high chromium content of Alloy 803 and enhances its properties with the addition of silicon, molybdenum and niobium. INCOLOY Alloy 890 is a solid solution single phase alloy. It is usually supplied in the annealed condition. Annealing of Alloy 890 is accomplished by heating to a temperature between 2050 and 2200°F (1121 and 1204°C) for a time corresponding to the section thickness, followed by rapid cooling in air or water quenching. When exposed to moderate temperatures for a long time, Alloy 890 will become sensitized due to carbide precipitation. However, sensitization of materials used primarily at high temperatures, such as Alloy 890, is generally not considered a major problem because the conditions causing water corrosion are not frequently encountered.
Incoloy 903 alloy is mainly composed of nickel, chromium, cobalt, aluminum, titanium and other elements. Aluminum and titanium are its characteristic elements, which can form a strong solid solution strengthening phase, thus improving the strength and corrosion resistance of the alloy. The alloy has excellent high temperature strength, good thermal fatigue and creep properties, excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation stability. In addition, the alloy has good machinability and weldability.
