1.4002 1.4919 Welded Pipe

1.4002 stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant alloy containing 12% chromium, 85% iron, and 1% each of manganese and silicon. It has a high tensile strength and is commonly used in annealing, especially metal fabrications that are difficult to anneal after welding.Although oxyacetylene welding is not recommended for stainless steel type 405, it can be welded using shielded fusion or resistance techniques. Electrodes that contain columbium are used in preference to aluminum to control hardening.Before annealing, 405 stainless steel is soaked at 649-760°C (1200-1400°F) followed by air-cooling. The temperature of the steel can then be increased to 1038-1121°C (1900-2050°F).
1.4919 stainless steel has higher strength at elevated temperatures and is used for structural and pressure vessel applications at temperatures above 932°F (500°C). The higher carbon content of 316H also delivers higher tensile and yield strength than 316/316L and its austenitic structure provides excellent toughness down to cryogenic temperatures.
