GH4169 (Inconel 718) Round Bar | Wholesale Black and Glossy Stock
Global wholesale suppliers offer high-temperature resistant GH4169 (Inconel 718) round bars in two finishes: black (hot-rolled/annealed) and bright (polished). These nickel-based superalloys are commonly used in industries such as aerospace, oil and gas, and turbines.
What are the disadvantages of Inconel 718?
Disadvantages and alternatives of Inconel 718
While Inconel 718 boasts excellent mechanical and corrosion resistance properties, it also has some drawbacks: High cost: Due to its complex manufacturing process, Inconel 718 is expensive. Difficult to process: Its high hardness makes material removal difficult and accelerates tool wear.

FAQ
Q1: Is the "Black Surface" material lower quality than the "Bright Surface"?
A: No. The internal metallurgy (refined via VIM+VAR) is identical. The only difference is the final surface processing. Black surface is ideal if you plan to re-forge or perform heavy rough machining yourself.
Q2: Can I get h9 tolerance on a black hot-rolled bar?
A: No. Hot-rolled bars have loose tolerances due to thermal expansion during cooling. If your CNC requires tight tolerance, we recommend ordering our Precision Ground bright rods to prevent tool damage and feeding jams.
Q3: Is your GH4169 interchangeable with Inconel 718?
A: Absolutely. GH4169 is the technische equivalent to UNS N07718. We provide compliance documents proving parity with AMS 5662 and ASTM B637.
Q4: Do you support small trial orders for different surface finishes?
A: Yes. We support R&D by offering Flexible MOQs on our in-stock inventory, allowing you to test both surface types before committing to a full wholesale order.
