Annealing Inconel 718:
Annealing can significantly improve the grain morphology of Inconel 718 steel pipe. High temperature annealing can promote grain growth, thereby improving toughness, but it will reduce the strength of the material. The uniformity of the microstructure is closely related to the overall performance of the alloy.
Annealing temperature and time have a significant effect on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Alloy 718 pipe. Annealing is usually carried out between 927°C and 982°C to reduce internal stress and improve toughness.
