The microstructure of the ASTM A182 F52 round bar is 50:50 austenite and ferrite. The substance combines strong ductility and mechanical strength with mild to good corrosion resistance in a range of conditions. Heat treatment can't harden this material, although stronger surface strengths can be achieved by cold working. In practically all situations where better mechanical strength/less weight is required, ASTM A182 Gr F52 Bars alloy can be utilized successfully as a substitute for 300 series austenitic stainless steel.

Due to its higher alloy content, Super Duplex F52 Round Bars have better corrosion resistance than ordinary duplex stainless steels.
