ASTM/ASME A403 WP 347-347H Stainless Steel Sheet has a smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness and mechanical strength, and is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other media. It is an alloy steel that is not easy to rust, but it is not absolutely rust-free. Stainless steel plate refers to steel plate resistant to corrosion by weak media such as atmosphere, steam and water, while acid-resistant steel plate refers to steel plate resistant to corrosion by chemically corrosive media such as acid, alkali and salt.

347/347H stainless steel design features

• Superior overall corrosion resistance compared to Type 321 due to the stabilizing effect of columbium. • Reduces the tendency to form a continuous chromium carbide network at grain boundaries. • Better high temperature performance than 304 or 304L. Typically used on parts that are intermittently heated to 1500 °F. For continuous use, maximum temperature is 1650°F. • Type 347H has high carbon (0.04 – 0.10) for better high temperature creep characteristics. • Improved resistance to intergranular corrosion.
