Inconel 600 seamless pipe has improved corrosion resistance and is resistant to sensitization during welding and other heat treatments. Inconel 600 welded pipe is more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than traditional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels. Inconel 600 EFW pipe has increased additions of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum for improved corrosion resistance and enhanced resistance to chemical attack by sulphurous acid, acetic acid, formic acid, citric acid, and tartaric acid. Inconel 600 ERW pipe is a version with higher chromium, nickel, and molybdenum content, primarily for increased strength and corrosion resistance. Inconel 600 round pipe is more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than traditional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels.
UNS N06600 pipe has the same high strength and corrosion resistance, but produces stronger welds due to the lower carbon content.
