Composition differences
Inconel 625 is mainly composed of elements such as nickel, chromium and molybdenum, of which the nickel content is as high as more than 50%, and also contains elements such as aluminum and titanium. Inconel 600 is a non-magnetic, nickel-based high-temperature alloy with high strength and good corrosion resistance.
Performance differences
Corrosion resistance:
Inconel 625 performs well in various corrosive environments, especially for harsh chemicals such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and phosphoric acid. Its corrosion resistance is generally comparable to Hastelloy C276. Inconel 600 also has good corrosion resistance, but its resistance to some chemicals is slightly inferior to Inconel 625.
High temperature performance:
Inconel 625 performs well at high temperatures and can maintain excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures up to 982°C, making it suitable for high temperature oxidizing environments.
Inconel 600 can also resist oxidation and carburization at high temperatures, but its performance at high temperatures is not as good as Inconel 625.
Mechanical properties: The yield strength of Inconel 625 at room temperature is about 200MPa, the tensile strength is about 400MPa, and the yield strength can be maintained above 100MPa at high temperature, with high creep strength and endurance strength. Inconel 600 has high strength and good hot and cold processing properties, but its mechanical properties at high temperatures are not as good as Inconel 625.
Application differences
Inconel 625: Widely used in high-end fields such as aviation, aerospace, nuclear energy, chemical industry and petrochemical industry. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature performance, it is often used to manufacture high-temperature components such as combustion chambers, turbine blades, pipelines, valves, etc. Inconel 600: Suitable for furnace components and chemical processing equipment, can resist oxidation and carburization at high temperatures, and is especially suitable for use at medium temperatures.
