Comparison of the full names of Inconel 600 alloy tubing and Nickel 718 tubing
Inconel 600 tubing (UNS N06600) is a high-nickel, high-chromium alloy known for its oxidation resistance; while Nickel 718 tubing (UNS N07718) is a precipitation-hardening alloy known for its excellent strength at high temperatures. The main difference lies in their primary strengthening mechanisms (Inconel 600 tubing relies on compositional strengthening, while N718 utilizes γ' precipitates for strengthening) and the key alloying elements used for strengthening in N718, such as niobium (Nb). "Inconel" and "Nickel" are brand/series names, but the specific numbers (600, 718) represent different compositions and applications of these nickel-based superalloys.
What is the name of Inconel 600?
Inconel 600 alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron solid solution strengthened alloy with a nominal chemical composition of 72% nickel, 16% chromium, and 8% iron. It is commonly known by the trade name Inconel® 600 and the general designation UNS N06600.

Inconel 600 Pipe
Inconel 600 pipe, also known as Nicrofer 716, Pyromet Alloy 600, and Nicrimphy 600, is a nickel-chromium alloy with excellent oxidation resistance and high-temperature corrosion resistance. Due to its high nickel content, Inconel 600 pipe exhibits strong resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Inconel 600 pipe requires no aging hardening treatment, as it is hardened and strengthened solely through cold working. Inconel 600 pipe can operate in a temperature range from low temperatures to 700°F (370°C).
Inconel 718 Alloy Pipe
Alloy 718 pipe is a precipitation-hardening nickel-based alloy pipe designed to exhibit extremely high yield strength, tensile strength, and creep rupture strength at temperatures up to 1300°F (700°C). Alloy 718 has a slow age hardening response, so it does not undergo spontaneous hardening during heating and cooling, and can be annealed and welded.
