Core Advantages of GH2132 (A-286 Equivalent)

High Temperature Strength

Engineered for severe thermal service, GH2132 retains excellent tensile and yield strength up to 650°C (1200°F), preventing structural deformation under extreme thermal stress.

01

Superior Creep Resistance

The precipitation-hardening mechanism effectively halts long-term metal fatigue and grain boundary sliding, providing exceptional stress-rupture capability during continuous operations.

02

Excellent Corrosion Proof

Formulated with high chromium and nickel content, it develops a passive oxide layer that strongly defends against high-temperature oxidation and aggressive chemical atmospheres.

03

Stable Non-Magnetic Profile

Maintains full non-magnetic stability even after extensive cold working and thermal processing, making it ideal for sensitive instrument, electronic, and cryogenic hardware.

04

Outstanding Fabricability

Exhibits excellent hot workability, cold formability, and weldability compared to other superalloys, allowing for versatile machining and precision bolt or fastener manufacturing.

05

Applicable Standards(GH2132)

Products Standards
Cold‑drawn bars GB/T 14992
Hot‑rolled plates GB/T 14994
Cold‑rolled sheets GB/T 14995
Cold‑drawn rods for aviation applications GJB 2611A‑2006

GH2132 Heat Treatment Specifications

Solution Treatment

Heating at 980°C – 1000°C followed by rapid air cooling or oil quenching. This step completely dissolves carbide phases into the austenite matrix, optimizing workability and establishing a uniform grain structure.

Precipitation Age Hardening

Aging at 700°C – 750°C for 16 hours, followed by air cooling. This process triggers fine $\gamma'$ ($\mathrm{Ni_3(Al, Ti)}$) phase precipitation, drastically raising yield strength and high-temperature creep resistance.

GH2132 Machining & Welding Guidelines

Precision Machining

Machinable in the solution-annealed state using rigid setups, heavy-duty carbide tooling, and positive rake angles. Maintain continuous feed rates to avoid strain hardening during turning, milling, and thread rolling.

Welding Practices

Easily welded in the solution-treated condition using TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), or Resistance Spot Welding. Post-weld solution annealing and aging are recommended to restore optimal stress-rupture strength across weld seams.

Applications of GH2132

GH2132 alloy is primarily known for its superior mechanical properties and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures, making it well-suited for a variety of demanding applications across several key industries. Below are the main applications of GH2132, organized in a clear, structured manner:

Aerospace

  • Engine Components: GH2132 is used in the manufacturing of high-temperature load-bearing components of jet engines, such as turbine disks and compressor blades. Its ability to withstand extreme temperatures while maintaining strength and durability under stress is crucial in these applications.
  • Aerostructure Parts: Due to its high strength and excellent fatigue resistance, GH2132 is also utilized in structural components of aircraft that demand high performance.

Energy

Power Generation Equipment: GH2132 is employed in parts of gas turbine engines and other high-temperature environments within the power generation sector. Its resistance to thermal fatigue enhances the longevity and reliability of these components.

Industrial

  • High-Temperature Fasteners: The alloy is often used in the production of high-temperature fasteners, including bolts and screws, which require high yield strength and the ability to maintain mechanical integrity at high temperatures.
  • Thermal Processing Equipment: Components like industrial furnace parts, heat exchanger tubes, and other devices exposed to high temperatures also benefit from GH2132's thermal resistance and strength.

Marine

  • Marine Engineering: Its corrosion resistance in harsh environments makes GH2132 suitable for marine applications, particularly in parts that are exposed to high chloride environments, reducing the risk of stress corrosion cracking.

Automotive

  • Exhaust Systems: The alloy can be used in high-performance exhaust systems and other automotive components that operate at high temperatures, benefiting from its heat resistance and strength.

The diverse applications of GH2132 highlight its versatility and effectiveness in environments where both high-temperature performance and corrosion resistance are critical. This makes it an invaluable material in advanced engineering and industrial applications.

FAQ:

Q1: What core advantage makes GH2132 different from GH4169? What is its long-term stable service temperature?

A: GH2132 is Fe-Ni-Cr precipitation hardening alloy equivalent to A286, its biggest competitive strength is 30% lower procurement cost than GH4169 while retaining 90% of GH4169's creep strength at ≤650℃. It has superior cold heading & machining performance ideal for mass fastener production.

Long-term continuous safe bearing service temperature: ≤650℃

Short-term instantaneous peak oxidation tolerance: Up to 750℃ It requires two-stage aging heat treatment to achieve full strength, cannot reach GH4169's mechanical performance above 700℃, so we only recommend it for components working below 650℃ to save material cost.

Q2: What three core product forms of GH2132 can you supply? What standard sizes are in permanent stock?

A: We fully produce three mainstream finished forms for global export, all standard inventory sizes support fast MRO emergency delivery:

GH2132 Round Bar & Forged Billet Diameter Φ10mm~Φ500mm; random length 2000~5000mm, customizable fixed cutting length; surface options: black forged, peeled bright, centerless ground polished (h8/h9 tight tolerance)

GH2132 Cold Rolled Sheet & Hot Rolled Plate Thickness: Thin sheet 0.05~3.0mm; thick plate 4.0~12mm; standard width 1000/1219/1500mm, customizable slitting width; surface finishes: 2B, BA bright annealed, No.1 hot rolled pickled, sand blasted

GH2132 Seamless Cold Drawn Tube Outer diameter Φ10~320mm; wall thickness 0.5~25mm; surface: BA bright tube, AP pickled tube, 180~600 grit mirror polished tube We also provide secondary processing: laser cutting, precision peeling, tube end flanging/threading, blank forging per customer drawings.

Q3:What are high temperature alloys?

High-temperature alloys, or superalloys, are special metal mixtures. They keep their strength, resist rust, and do not bend or break when exposed to extreme heat. They are widely used in jet engines, gas turbines, and power plants.
