Inconel 601GC is based on the above performance characteristics and has a high degree of alloying of high-temperature alloys. It is also known as "super alloy" and is an important material widely used in industry, petroleum, chemical industry, and ships. According to the matrix elements, high-temperature alloys are divided into iron-based, nickel-based, cobalt-based and other high-temperature alloys. The service temperature of iron-based high-temperature alloys can generally only reach 750~780°C. For heat-resistant parts used at higher temperatures, nickel-based and refractory metal-based alloys are used. Nickel-based high-temperature alloys occupy a particularly important position in the entire field of high-temperature alloys. They are widely used to manufacture hot-end components of jet engines and various industrial gas turbines.
Inconel 725/INCONEL 725 alloy (UNS N07725) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy that is extremely corrosion resistant and can be age-hardened to high strength. Its corrosion resistance is similar to that of INCONEL 625 alloy, which is widely used in a variety of severe corrosive environments. The strength of INCONEL 725 alloy after age hardening is about twice that of annealed 625 alloy. Because the strength of 725 alloy is developed by heat treatment rather than cold working, its ductility and toughness remain high. In addition, it can also be strengthened in large or non-uniform sections that cannot be strengthened by cold working.
The properties of INCONEL 725 alloy make it suitable for a range of applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. The alloy is used to manufacture hangers, landing nipples, side pocket mandrels and polished bore sockets in sour gas environments and is resistant to the effects of hydrogen sulfide, chlorides and carbon dioxide. The alloy is also suitable for high-strength fasteners in marine applications, resisting corrosion, pitting and crevice attack in seawater.
